Boston, one of America's oldest cities, is an inspiring example of old and new. Buildings clad in Federal-style architecture mingle with skyscrapers, churches and pubs filled with history celebrate the path to American independence while shopping areas celebrate capitalism. Small a town as it is, Boston has a lot of character, and a lot of characters.

You can't miss it: a gigantic arch and a wading fountain in the middle of the Village in New York City, Washington Square Park serves as a neighborhood marker, a campus hub, a revolutionary meeting place, and a cultural touchstone. If you'll stay in San-Francisco for a few days, this way or another you'll find yourself in Berkeley, the cradle of hippies - till nowadays you can see (and hear) the spoken word poets on the central Telegraph street. The peace-fighting atmosphere of sixties is naturally preserved till today - and you easily find some commercialized hippie-culture artifacts such as stickers, tie dye t-shirts and bijouterie.
-
The craft most skyline I've ever seen till now belongs to Pudong - the special Shanghai business district. The leftmost is the Pearl Tower - the highest TV tower in Asia (486m) - carrying inside a hotel, a revolving restaurant and the sightseeing level.
-
You'll surely pass this peaceful and silent place on your way from San Francisco to Berkeley. A perfect place for the birds and yachts-watching. Home for Pixar studios cartoons, inspiring sea views, melancholic hot roads on parking lots.
