I have been a busy bee this past week. I'm in the middle of a collaboration with my boyfriend -- our first collaboration ever -- which I will hopefully feature here next week, and I've been looking for fresh photo ideas here on Lomography and also on Flickr.

Sometimes when there's nothing interesting going on and nobody else is around, it's hard to find a subject to shoot. But don’t be put down; there is always you! A self-portrait can be made anytime and anywhere. You don’t need to be super vain--no, I think everybody can use some self-portrait time every now and then. What you get is a very interesting collection of “selfies” which is a nice way to look back and capture the most intimate moments of your own life. Nowadays, it’s even easier with everybody carrying smartphones and digital cameras, but nothing beats a good analogue self-portrait.

I had this week’s article written and ready for publishing two weeks before my deadline but a lot has happened since then so I decided to write an entirely different article, one that would be more fitting. I also dusted off my trusty Mamiya C330 so I could capture the sense of this piece on film.

Every lomographer has done it self-portraits! This self-portraits thing is like a habit, like, when you're holding your camera and suddenly you get that itch to shoot yourself. It's sort of like a way to express yourself. It could be something like, say, a happy smile or a sad face, but documenting those facial expressions daily is something challenging yet fun!

Who should we love best? Ourselves, of course! We should love ourselves for what we do, for what we are, for what the mirror shows, and us by us…in the picture I mean! Put fears aside and be…narcissists!

I have lot of self-portraits. Most of them are unpublished, hidden in my computer and hard-disks because after negatives are developed, I start looking at these self-portraits, thinking that they are not so good. But there are some that I let out of my computer and here's a little compilation of them.

I’m the type of guy who is normally on the other end of the camera. I like shooting, but once in a while, I do switch over to the dark side and appear in my own photos, especially when I want to try something new.

I love browsing through my picture archives, looking for patterns. One of the patterns I spotted was my favourite way to start a new roll of film: the self-portrait.

I know I can't marry myself but I would like to do it, because I feel real love for me. I wouldn't marry myself only for getting extra paid holidays or....would I?

I guess it's not something new. I think mostly all of us did this before. Well, reflection from the mirror is always the best way to capture yourself, without the help from others. It's fun, and interesting. It's cute to capture yourself with your camera as well.

I loves traveling and sightseeing. So, what is the best way to capture your own self-portraits while you are on your move, while you might be alone and nobody could help you?
