The Black Lips are one of the coolest garage rock bands around: often outrageous and provocative, these four guys from Atlanta have become popular thanks to their hit "Bad Kids", which was also featured in the soundtrack of the movie 500 Days of Summer. We met them at their gig in Brescia, Italy, where we collected the films they shot during their Italian tour. Jared Swilley, bass and vocals, also answered a couple of questions for us. Enjoy!

What do you do when you are swept up by a huge desire to escape from the city and switch off from everyday life? I go hunting for sunsets on the beach!

If I had to choose which food I tasted with more joy in my city, as a teacher, I have no doubt: it is the one prepared with love by our students!

Urban deserts are terrible, sometimes worse than the real desert. One feels a sense of anger, frustration, and helplessness while he is seeing some environmental disaster, while he is passing near closed factories and abandoned buildings, walking around closed and impenetrable places that were once a source of social life. The camera is an excellent tool for raising awareness. Here I propose a few places in my city, hoping for a change.

You spend your holidays at the beach? Enjoy and bathe in the sun and then refresh yourself in the water? Well, that´s what most people do on the beach. Not me. Almost every time I travel to a beach I do this to do sports: I play Beach Ultimate. - Ultimate Frisbee played on the beach. Last year in August I played at the World Championships of Beach Ultimate in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy. Read on how hard it is to run in the sun when everyone else on the beach is looking for shadow.

Every aspect of the life of a city, from a small village to a megalopolis is interesting. You can document free time, amusements, sports, urban architecture, traffic, weather...this time, my article is a tribute to street workers!

From Tuesday, April 17 to Friday, April 21, there was a Design Week in the Brera district of Milan (the same place where the Lomography Store is located in the city). I was one of the ten selected lomo-reporters for this event. Here some images taken before the beginning of the exposition!

Pizza is one of my favorite foods. Freshly-made traditional Italian pizza is even better. I only had one when visiting Sorrento in Italy but I might very well have picked the best!

Every year, at the end of May or at the beginning of June, there is a great street parade in Como, Italy called "Parada par Tücc" (Parade for All). Creativity and art to reinvent the city! See how it goes below!

The athletics is truly a timeless sport. The movements of the race, the throws and the jumps have changed very little during more than a century of history of this sport. That's why the black and white is very suitable for documenting this kind of event!

Until last year, a chain of supermarkets were selling the Esselunga films (in 100, 200, and 400 ISO). I do not know if these films were actually produced by Ferrania with another name, as is often said. Probably yes, but I'm not 100% sure of this. The behavior of these films is interesting, especially if you use Russian and former East Germany (Helios, Pentacon) lenses, because in this case, your photos are characterized by a dominant brown / amber that is very pleasant. Take a look after the jump!

It was October 2010, I was living in Perugia and didn't know what to do for a week. That's when I decided to put on my backpack and get to know the Campania, one of the most beautiful regions in Italy. The first stop of my adventure was Naples, the capital. The second was Capri, the Island of Love.

Viva Italia! The LomoKino was showcased on Vodafone News recently as Elisa Maccario of the Lomography Gallery Store in Italy talked about our awesome selection of analog cameras. Watch the clip here!

When in Rome, you already know not to miss the Colosseum or Trevi Fountain. The Guardian lists less touristy activities when in Italy, like enjoying the serene seascapes of Sardinia and Capri. Here are 30 sigh-inducing film photos of the seaside escapes. Perfect subjects for the new La Sardina Capri!

In the '60s, my parents bought an Agfa Optima IIS, a fully-automatic 35mm camera. With this camera, they have made many photos of our family. Until in the '70s, when the camera was stolen. Recently, I found an identical camera on eBay, still working perfectly, and I immediately I bought it!

Rome is one of the most chaotic cities I've ever been to. What I find truly amazing is that amidst all that chaos, you can find these little spots where it seems that time has stopped, perfect for black-and-white photos...

The last of the Ten Golden Rules of the Lomography says: "Don't worry about any rules." So, I use my old Lomo LC-A, which I owned from the beginning of the 90s, in a traditional way, not the "lomographic" way. Always think about the composition before taking a picture!

Lomography now sells tea? No, Lomography has actually come up with a new monochrome film, the Earl Grey 100 35mm black and white film.

Do you remember "The Gold Rush" of Charlie Chaplin, and the scenes with the gold searchers that climb on the mountains covered by snow? Well, the Monte Rosa is the location that I propose you can visit in honor of this great artist!
