I am going to make the rude (but probably accurate) assumption that almost none of you have heard of this small town (please comment below if you have or are from this town!). About a two-hour drive outside of the bustling city of Melbourne, capital of Victoria in Australia, this is a humble town with huge potential for some great photographs and great fun!

Noli is a town in the region of Liguria, Italy, about 50km from Genoa. This town was an independent republic from 1193 until 1797, the smallest one of the five so-called "Maritime Republics". One of the smallest towns of the coast of Liguria, but one of the most romantic locations!

There's a hill behind Orchard Road, a hill with private housing units, pubs, bars, and restaurants. Well it is Emerald Hill (Chinese: 翡翠山), it is a well-known place to hangout in among foreigners and youngsters in Singapore. It used to be the home area for the Peranakan, who is the city's wealthy community. William Cuppage is the original owner, who rose from being a postal clerk to acting Postmaster General in the 1840s. In 1837, he leased Emerald Hill and secured a permanent grant for his nutmeg plantation in 1845 which later failed in the 1860s due to disease.

Once a busy coal mining town, Houtong is rapidly becoming a popular spot for cat-watching. Houtong is a small village in Ruifang township, north of Taipei. Once a busy coal mining town during the Japanese colonial rule in the 1900s, Houtong is now famous for the hundreds of stray cats that inhabit its streets. The cats are regularly fed and cared for by locals and volunteers.

Potsdam is a German city located near Berlin, famous because of Sanssouci Palace because it was the home of several sovereigns that established their big and luxurious palaces there. I invite you to discover Potsdam palaces, especially its great gardens trough the plastic lens of my Diana F+.

To escape the city, me and my family own a little house in a very little town called Waterval Boven, this is so we can get out of Johannesburg for a bit and recharge, this is indeed the quintessential one-horse town minus the horse.

Salem, Massachusetts is a sleepy little seaside town with a very spooky past. It's one of the oldest towns in the US and has seen it's share of strange historical events, including the famous Salem Witch Trials of the 1600's.

Brunete is a small town situated 28 kilometers to the south east of the capital. Historic for the famous Battle that broke out during the Civil War, leaving the village destroyed, today it is a tranquil haven of peace and silence. Its urban area its own Herrerian style from the reconstructions during the dictatorship, with little farming houses.

Cascais is a lovely costal town 30 kilometers west of Lisbon. It used to be a Royal summer residence, although it was originally a fisherman village, but now it is a cosmopolitan sea and a getaway for both rich and poor.
