Urban deserts are terrible, sometimes worse than the real desert. One feels a sense of anger, frustration, and helplessness while he is seeing some environmental disaster, while he is passing near closed factories and abandoned buildings, walking around closed and impenetrable places that were once a source of social life. The camera is an excellent tool for raising awareness. Here I propose a few places in my city, hoping for a change.

Fancy shooting in an old town with old buildings, worn out paintings, old vintage cars etc.? It is my favorite shooting place too! I love shooting old subjects! The place I'll be writing about in this article is Tiong Bahru, an old town in Singapore.

Recently, we accidentally found a Facebook Page with a lot of interesting “Old Hong Kong” photos and we would like to share them with you!

In my quest to find films everybody forgot about, I found the ALFO Professional Slide Film. Never really heard about that one, so I started my CSI engine. So this review is rather about the way one researches about the history of gone film-gems than the look of its emulsion.

What is a kampong? It's a place where you can find attap houses and everything is simple in a kampong. There's only one kampong left in Singapore and I want to introduce it to you guys. It is Kampong Buangkok (Chinese: 罗弄万国村) located near Hougang. It was built in early 1965 and is now the only kampong village you can find in Singapore.

I managed to pick up a 30+ year old stereo camera from a friend of my mom's just for fun. I ran a roll through it to test it out. The results were pleasantly surprising!

Back in 1980 or thereabouts, my parents brought my brother and me to Hong Kong for a family vacation. One of the places we visited was Sung Dynasty Village, a theme park based on an old village in China.

Ever wondered how to go swimming without water in the pool? Well there is a place where you can do just that; at Yan Kit Swimming Pool! I am just kidding, you can't swim without having water in the pool hahaha! But this is a very good location for lomo shooting! Yan Kit Swimming Pool was built in 1952 and it is Singapore's second public swimming pool back then. It was closed down in 2001 because maintenance was too expensive to operate.

Here's an old film from the German Democratic Republic era: the Orwo NP 20, an 80 ISO 35mm film. This black and white film produces photos with incredibly soft tones.

Lana Del Rey, born in 1986 in New York City, is one of the most inspiring artists in the baroque pop scene. Del Rey released her first album entitled “Kill Kill” in 2010, and soon she will released her second album called “Born to Die.” Lana is a real analogue lover, as you can see in her music videos.

My enthusiasm for analogue photography has lead me dig through my mum's, dad's and grandparent's old photos to see their family and holiday snaps from the '30s to the '70s. The good ol' days when digital was just an adjective associated with fingers.

Oh my! What have were here? Can you see this black beauty through the green and brown? If not, we'll help you identify the camera, in much need of a makeover. Though, we have to say, this moldy look is 'growing' on us.

Singapore, land of tradition and modernity - and the creative, it seems! What truly amazing photos we saw for this rumble, and we can't wait to announce the results here!

In the charming town of Kailua, Hawaii on the island of Oahu, there is a fantastic bookstore called BookEnds. It's my absolute favorite store to browse for secondhand books and trinkets - cozy, locally owned, and all for the love of books!

Hans Otte (August 23, 1928 -- April 24, 2007) was my grandfather on my father's side. Looking through some of my old family pictures, I came across a collection of images of his life, which I thought I would share.

Story of an old camera. About how to get lucky without knowing, unexpected failures and light leaks...and some meaningless blabbering.

Being a Lomographer is not that easy, especially when nature doesn't support you. The 7th rule of lomography is "Be fast”. Well, using a russian RF is kind of hard to shoot whatever, whenever, when you have no exposures left on film. So you have to change it, but it takes a while.

I have read a lot of stories about people who found rolls in old cameras. I never had the thrill of this experience, until now.

Walking in the southern part of Bombay is a delight. And when matched with my new book on Gothic Architecture, it was just like walking through a museum.

We stepped out on the eve of the Indian Independence Day and shot pictures of how Mumbai would have been before 1947!
