Pushkar Mela (Mela = Fair) is an annual gathering that convenes every year around November/ December at the town of Pushkar in Rajasthan, India. What started as an annual event for cattle traders to exchange camels and cows, has grown into a 7-day extravaganza showcasing the rich culture of the north Indian state of Rajasthan.

Jaisalmer is the closest city to the Pakistani border in the NW of Rajasthan, one of India’s most beautiful states. It lies in the heart of the Thar Desert in the middle of nowhere. Jaisalmer is the last stop before you take your chances in the hot, windy, dry desert dunes of north India. With all kinds of merchants, vendors and markets the place city bursting with life. There is something very attractive about the chaos and bustle of Indian cities that I just can’t explain.
