Together with the windmills, tulips fields are the most famous landscape in the Netherlands. In 1593, the first tulip was placed in Dutch soil and since then the country has been in multi-coloured bloom.

A field of 6-feet yellow sunflowers with buzzing bees in Birchington, Kent. This place is a hidden gem over the summer months, tucked away behind the high street and opposite the entrance to Quex Park. I was driving to my Grandad’s, down Manston Road one day and there they were! I haven't been here for a while so it was as if the usual cabbages had magically transformed into huge sunflowers.

By now you know my story: July 2009, 8000 km road trip, 3 generations, 1 van. Crazy? Yes. Lomographically limited? In no way whatsoever! I took along 10 cameras and 40 rolls of film. We passed through 10 American states and 3 Canadian provinces, and enjoyed the open skies of Saskatchewan...but only for as long as absolutely necessary.
