In Summer 2011 I was off to New York from London to compete at the United Nations Congress Ju Jitsu Championships. Set up for a win. Unfortunately my time in the Big Apple coincided exactly with the first Hurricane to hit New York in what seemed like forever. The competition was cancelled, a lot of training and preparation was wasted, but all was not lost as while there I fell in love - with analogue photography.

Singapore’s Changi Airport is one of the best airports in the world – and for good reasons. One of the best reasons I can think of is the number of spots you can go for a date.

How many people know this story, you get stuck in traffic, or take a wrong turn meaning that you get to the airport after check in has closed. The people in their perfect little uniforms tell you you can't get on the flight. You protest because the plane is still sitting there, its a domestic flight and they haven't even started boarding yet.

Fukuoka is located in western Japan; due to its proximity to Korea as well as China, Fukuoka is positioned to become the next tourism and trade hub in Asia. This airport is also considered to be the "gateway to Asia", but if you're just spending a lazy afternoon, no need to go inside, just look for a comfy spot near Fukuoka Airport and instantly get an amazing view of the planes that are departing - and landing in the busy airport.

The airport is not only a terminal and buildings. It is also a cool place to witness the sunset on the horizon and very close-up to the amazing site of landing and taking-off airplanes - best spot of course is the end of runway. Even if you are not into planes you will be impressed by the sites there!

Actually this location is an accident! Because normally I was traveling for business to Thessaoniki / Greece but due to all the meetings it turns out I didn't had any time to take pics in Greece. I was already frustrated about, so that I shoot the film while I had to wait in Munich Airport for the transfer flight.

Gazing out my window as the plane rounded the tarmac, the first thing that caught my eye at this modern airport were the interlace of steel that roofed the terminals. Upon entering, the extensive, bright and airy interior embraces everyone with distinct local hospitality: "Welcome to Thailand!"

Mostly when I go on a journey by airplane I use to start at Munich Airport. It is the nearest airport to the place where I live and the one with the best directions. Near these convenient things it is an airport with a fantastic design where your waiting time spins away by watching the great architecture, in comfortable cafes or in the several kinds of shops you can find there.

Vacation can be real vacation only if you can get yourself far away from your everyday environment. No phone-calls from your boss "well, maybe you could stop by just for a second, cause we are having difficulties with the project" and so on. If you are far away from your home, you can even start forgetting the day of the week or even the time itself... How to do that? Cars and boats are expensive and quite lazy, so we have to choose planes... Good news: Frankfurt Hahn airport in Germany is one of the best stops in the whole Europe. You know why? Because you can go everywhere you want - this airport and of course some of the air-companies offer cheap flights to... Murcia in Spain or Verona in Italy... Or Africa... Or whatever you want.
