As corny as that may have sounded, the term "elephantastic" has been used for tourism, which I wouldn't dare dispute. It is indeed nothing but fantastic. A few nautical miles away from Mumbai's Gateway of India, the island is worth a daytrip, especially on those days when you're just tired of the same old daily city grind.

Similar to Dunhuang's Mogao Grottoes, the Yungang Grottoes is located in Datong City of Shanxi province in China. If you are interested in Buddhism, Yungang Grottoes has some excellent examples of rock-cut architecture and is one of the three most famous ancient Buddhist sculptural sites of China.

The Grutas de García are some amazing rock formations and if you look well (or get a guide) you'll be able to discover some imaginative figures on the rock.

Most likely you'll arrive here on ferry through the Li Jiang river cruise. Please don't jump on the bus back, and enjoy the place for a few days (3 to 7 days is a good idea).

It is easy to write a location for a spectacular places. Truly :) Look at the pics and understand why people from all over the world take the Li River (Lí Jiāng) cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo.

Don't forget to visit the caves in Guilin.

53 grottoes (read: caves) with thousands statues carry a history of 1500 years back in time. The historical records state that more then 40000 people contributed to the project that took 50 years to complete (all happened during the Northern Wei Dynasty, guided by a monk, named Tan Yao).
