How my husband's idea for a project inspired a whole family. Beginning with one challenge: £30 to buy a film camera, one black and white film, and one colour film. The start of lomographic adventure!

I'm new to Lomography and I've been using the Smena 8M. I want others to know why I feel this camera is worthwhile. Don't think just shoot is not easy to apply to this kind of camera as it is very experimental. Just like doing an experiment when you got the variables to alter and adjust.

Do you like to buy cheap Russian cameras? Then the Prague Flea Market is perfect for you! By the way, you can take beautiful pictures of people and old-fashioned stuff here too!
-
As you all know, the SMENA 8M is a very nice Russian camera. It's my newest camera ever since I wanted to try out manual functions of a 35mm compact camera! I still love my LC-A but the SMENA 8M gives you full control over your aperture and shutter speed. So I like to use my LC-A for occasions where its automatic function provides less hassle and SMENA 8M when I like to fiddle with my exposure settings.

The Smena 8M was an entry-level that was produced by the Soviet Union during the early 70s and is a manual toy camera -- A great tool for amateur photographers and to those who want to start photography!

This is a story (review) about getting to know my new friend that you may find familiar!

One of the cheapest, widely available toy cameras out there: the lovely Lomo Smena 8M. I've found that she is a seriously sentimental trinket. This camera is a great addition to any Lomographer's collection. And have you seen the price?

Some of you may get out of focus images and some of you may have experienced with dark image. Wondering why this is ? I will explain to you why based on my experience. It is probably because you set the aperture and shutter speed wrongly, or it might be the ISO of the film. Don't get frustrated yet, because I'm going to share with you my basic understandings of how to work with the settings by using LOMO Smena 8m.
-
Have you ever experienced when you unloading your Smena 8M and just for fun, test firing your Smena 8M and suddenly you notice that 1 of your shutter blades is not working? You will wonder, "Argh!! What happen to my rolls?? Is it nicely exposed or a disaster?".

Provia 100F - along with its faster brother Provia 400X - has rapidly become one of my favourite films for colour photography, and providing I'm expecting decent light, it's rare that I'm not carrying at least one roll of it in my bag.
-
It seems like such a long time ago now, but right at the start of the summer, I got an exciting package through the mail - a roll of film from Hungary! Check out the Doubles With You collaboration between coldkennels and juliagulia!

We all know that film needs light to produce a perfect photograph which is why daytime offers the perfect opportunity to take photographs with your analog camera. But what do you do if you want to take photos during nighttime? How will you be able to work around the low light situation? Well if you happen to swing by Malaysia, i-City in Shah Alam definitely gives you all the light that you need to make stunning photographs.

The oldie but a goodie LOMO Smena 8M pops up in the opening and closing credits of National Geographic's Adventure's Blog Notes. What does this mean you ask? Simple. Nat Geo gets it: Lomography = adventure. Watch the clip after the jump!

Fuji Professional 800 is a high-speed, low-grain versatile wonder. I've given it a whole bunch of situations to tackle, and it always gets good results. Well worth keeping some in stock - you never know when it could come in useful.

Try out the niftiest introduction to full manual shooting with this pocket sized beauty!

And all started with D. Afonso III king of Portugal. Is true that some places need to be repaired and best preserved but that's politics.

Story of my summer trip from Porto (Portugal) to Santiago de Compostela (Spain). A spiritual place for many, as pilgrims troop to this place for their faith, also a nice play to shoot!
-
Does your Smena 8m works only on bulb mode? Have you broken its glass lens or you can't adjust the aperture anymore? Hmmm what should you do? Throw it in a bin? Woah! Just stop right here, it still can be useful, you know! How about making a pinhole camera with outstanding clock mechanism design, it's possible!

Near the city Kaunas at the coast of sea there is very impresing location - monastery and church of Pažaislis
