Have you ever heard of the BeLomo Elikon 35CM? If not, you might want to learn something about this Soviet point and shoot camera from the 1990s!

The BELOMO Agat 18K is a tiny film camera with a plastic body, glass lens, and half frame mode, which means you are never able to finish the film loaded. Here is a review which contains my first impressions on this half-frame camera and also its basic technical details.

At first glimpse, people may seem this camera as an ordinary point-and-shoot compact camera, same as another. But when you hold it and try to shoot using this awesome camera, you may feel differently about this 'Little Russian Gem’.

Etyud -- this is a simple for use plastic camera. One of the few plastic 120 type cameras in the USSR of a 60's and 70's. Faded colors, angular body -- the soviet people know with this type of design. But shoot this camera is very nice.

Have you ever asked yourselves what would it like to change lenses from different type cameras? The answer is here!

I had longed for something like the Vilia for a long time, manual controls, wickedly sharp and contrasty lens and a design that reeks of the long gone regime we all know as the Soviet Union. However, after receiving the camera itself I realized everything isn´t how you picture it to be, and getting there takes effort. Learning to know the camera is half the fun, but this was something else, this was like trying to get to know a deaf Chinese. And I don´t even speak Chinese.

Situated at the northern end of Khreschatyk, Kiev’s Independence Square received global media attention in 2004 as the focal point of Ukraine’s Orange Revolution. Orange-clad demonstrators gathered in the Independence Square in Kiev during November, 2004. On some days, the number of protesters in the center of Kiev reached hundreds of thousands (one million by some estimates). Today, things have calmed down a little and the tented city that sprung up overnight has long gone. Independence Square, however, is still the city’s most popular spot for meetings, late night drinking and people watching.

The Elikon 535 is one of my prized possessions. Didn't order this from LSI though, I came across this little Russian camera at a flea market (sounds familiar, no?).
