Camps Bay Beach is a popular beach set against the mountains of Cape Town. It's a short drive from the city center and is well-known for its white sand fringed with palm trees and its busy beachfront cafes.

These aren't sketches using graphite pencils or images by day that have been reversed in color. They are long exposures done in the night by advertizing photographer Michael Schnabel. The lines of the jagged rock formations, the stillness of lakes, and the powdery quality of the snow are hyper detailed. It takes a master of light to master the darkness.

I've always wanted a home in the mountains. After quite a lot of convincing, we finally went out to see a place wherein we might like to build one.

My most memorable travel escapade in 2011 was a one-week hike through the Alps. I grew up in the south of Germany and my parents always took me to the Alps. They love to walk and I didn't. Now I live far away from from those huge mountains, in a medium-sized city. I actually started to miss them.

If you are wandering around the cape peninsula, make sure that you stop and take a look at our penguin Colony down at Boulders Beach. Many people don’t realise it but Capetown is home to the jackass penguin, at about 40cm high, these little guys are too cute to miss.

My first-ever backpacking trip in the country. I brought my favorite Diana F+ camera and the ever-so-reliable Vivitar UWS, each loaded with a roll of Kodak Ektachrome 200 - yes, on an unexpectedly gloomy, rainy day. I was hoping for the best but also expecting the worst shots.

On the edge of Italy, so far north it's almost Austria, lies one of the finest sights of the Dolomite region. The Drei Zinnen (or Tre Cime di Lavaredo, if you prefer Italian) can definitely take your breath away.

My sister used to talk about Scotland quite a lot in the last few months: how she enjoyed her time spent there when she was a student and how beautiful and romantic the country is. So we went there and had a wonderful time.

Bergen is an international town with small-town charm and atmosphere. The city is like a spectacular amphitheatre clambering up the mountain sides, overlooking the sea, embracing the tourists. Roaming through living history in this modern yet well-preserved 900 year-old city, this is the gateway to the wildest and loveliest fjords of Norway.

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word, "Switzerland"? Chocolate? Mountains? Farmers chilling outside? Do you know why I love clichés so much? Because they're so true.

Hiding in the lush mountains of Negros Oriental is a breathtaking natural wonder called the Twin Lakes of Balinsasayao and Danao. Located 12 kilometers west of Sibulan town, these deep-crater freshwater lakes are protected natural parks enveloped by tropical rain forests.

Visit Jasper, Canada for some great times up north in the mountains. Hiking around will get you lost in the culture and who knows, it might even change your life. Trying out an activity such as this is a welcome change especially if you have a fast-paced lifestyle.

I'm not a very active traveler nor an archaeologist or even a geologist (I still have not grown a beard so I will freeze in the expedition) but I love nature - the mountains, and fresh air. I was never interested in archeology before but if you're into such things then no problem! Just come to Russia and visit some sites related to ancient man located not far from Krasnodar in the village of Il'sky.

Coming close to the end of our round trip of New Zealand's south island, the last part of our travel took place in the Marlborough Sounds, between the cities of Nelson and Picton. Another inspiring destination with picture-perfect views.

Cape Farewell is the most northern point of New Zealand's south island, located in the Golden Bay. It's one of the most romantic spots that I've seen in NZ, and you can walk around here for hours amidst a beautiful landscape made of wide sand beaches and mountains.
