Q and A: Lomography City Guides
Q: Hi there, I think I need a break! I’ve been reading a lot of travel related stuff on your site and I can’t wait to start my LomoAdventure asap. Do you have any suggestions on what to do and where to go?
A: Hi friend! Everyone needs a break and you surely deserve one analogue style adventure. One of our friends wrote a while ago, he asked me for the things he needed to bring for his travel adventure. Of course, the most important thing to bring is your “Lomography camera”http://shop.lomography.com/camers?utm_source=www&utm_medium=shopnews&utm_campaign=QandA_cityguide and your stash of films to capture every moment.
As for your planning, if you are not sure where to go and what to do, why don’t you consult our City Guides? We have one for Vienna, London, Berlin and Hong Kong.
And if you are not entirely sure where to go for this well deserved adventure, then why don’t you jot down your travel plans on your Lomo Notebook and take your own city guide to document your LomoAdventure.
Can’t wait to have a glimpse on your travel photos! Go and Adventure is out there!
Q and A: Films on a Plane
Q: Hello, I’m going on my first plane ride and I plan to tag my cameras along. I am afraid that the X-Ray will damage my film, any tips?
A: Hi there, friend! Usually your films are not exposed to x-ray machines for long periods of time so it’s safe to bring them along. But if you are planning on a cross country adventure and you are overly worried, you can buy those x-ray pouches to protect your films. If you don’t have the time to buy the film protector, just make sure that the film is properly stored and place them on your hand carry so that you can have access to it anytime.
Our community member cassidy wrote a detailed article on how to protect your films under the rays.
Have fun and take a lot of photos!
It’s been more than two decades since the Lomo LC-A has graced the hands of film photographers and it still continues to be one of the most lovable compact cameras around! Hello Lomographers! This week’s staff pick is Kuxo, the marketing whiz for Czech Republic and Slovakia. Let’s see his responses:
Name: Martin Kuko, but everyone call me Kuxo
What you do at Lomography: PR & Marketing @ Lomography Czech republic and Slovakia
Interests: Music, bike polo (www.bikepolo.sk), fixed gear cycling, marketing, my side project Hudba Mesta (www.hudbamesta.sk) and my girl :)
Which Lomography product would you recommend to readers? Definitely Diana Mini and brand new Belair!
Why?I prefer cameras that are able to shoot in more formats, which I guess brings more joy and variability. Therefore my favourite one was always Diana Mini, as it is able to shoot half frame, which is pretty exciting. But that was until last days when we introduced Belair. It literally changed my mind and I am sooooo super excited about my first roll of film from Belair. I am really thrilled by its possibilities and I absolutely love the design. Perfect camera! Absolutely higlight….
Please attach a picture of yourself taken with a Lomography camera or Lomography film and tell us something about this picture. This one is from party at our office when we were launching LomoKino cameras. I guess it is representing the spirit of Lomography – being analogue in modern world, enjoying every colour and expressing happiness. That is what I think about when I hear the world Lomography.
Your message to Lomographers: Future is analogue no matter what they say. Stay clean, don’t believe the hype and don’t grow up – it’s a trap!
Thanks, Kuxo! You heard him, grab one of the Belair Cameras for more joy and variability. Until next time, Lomographers!
What comes to mind when you think of the future? For Lomographers, there’s still bound to be some analogue goodies eons into the future. So we’ve compiled a list of cameras which can fit right into far-off centuries and maybe even far-off galaxies!
When you think “futuristic,” most of the time it’s minimalistic sets and chrome gadgets. It’s the perfect setup for the Actionsampler Chrome!
The further into the future, the smaller everything gets. And even though the 110 format has been around for decades, we’ve still got a little camera that would fit right into any space station: the Fisheye Baby 110 Metal!
Customization and personalization is everything these days. And not too far off in the future, everything can be crafted to suit your exact tastes. Our answer to this is the camera that you can modify to suit your analogue desires, and that’s the La Sardina DIY!
What’s the ideal film for taking those futuristic shots? The Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 35mm can take some mundane scenery and turn it into a super crazy colorful shot!
Head out to the Online Shop to fulfill your futurustic fix!
