Staff Picks: Mayee of Lomography Manila

Hey, Lomographers! For this weekend’s staff recommendations, we’ve got someone who you might be familiar with since she’s one of the people who handpicks the rightful LomoHome of the Day, LomoGuru of the Week, and even some Competition winners! (Yep, you better toss her a few compliments now—just kidding!) Meet Mayee from the Community Managing Team!

    Name: Mayee Gonzales
    LomoHome: mayeemayee
What you do at Lomography: I’m a Community Manager which means I work on Lomography International’s social media pages plus the Lomography Community. I write articles and work on various Community-related activities.
Interests: I enjoy taking film photographs (of course, haha), playing music with my band, going to gigs, reading, traveling, and taking care of my cats. Haha.
Which Lomography product would you recommend to readers? The LC-Wide!
Why? It’s very user-friendly and compact! You can slide it in your bag or your pocket and not worry about it. Its focus is also very easy to manipulate since you only have two choices (close-up and infinity.) It’s great for those who have poor focusing skills like me. Haha. It looks elegant, too!
Please attach a picture of yourself taken with a Lomography camera or Lomography film and tell us something about this picture!
Here’s a photo shot using the LC-Wide and a Kodak CN400 film. I was testing the camera then and asked my brother to shoot a portrait of me. This was in our backyard one sunny Saturday, I think! I’m also very impressed how my brother got the focusing right. Haha.
    Your message to Lomographers?
Keep on shooting film! It’s a challenge, I know (especially for those who also shoot in digital format) but the grain and colours we achieve are worth all the efforts! :)
