A friend of mine gave me two rolls of Ilford Delta 400 films expired in 2001. It’s so precious that I decided to use them with my Olympus PEN EE-2 half-frame camera. Here are the results shooting the 10 year old film with a half-frame camera.

When it comes to photography, and especially film photography, black and white never fails to make a powerful and emotive impression, except when it falls completely flat with an extremely narrow tonal range. A lover of B&W since I first began to dabble in photography, I've experimented with almost every film out there! Yet time after time I find myself coming back to Ilford Delta 400! Now why is this?! Let's see shall we?

My very first Ilford film -- and boy it's not surprising why are they so highly revered!

Awesome performer in any lighting condition!

This is such an amazing black and white film: fast speed, well controlled highlights and very nice shadow detail. Wide exposure latitude makes the DELTA 400 perfect for almost all types of photography: outside, inside, studio, landscape or portrait. If you’re interested in black and white, this is definitely a must!
