Lomopedia: Mamiya 645 1000s
3 15 Share TweetThe Mamiya 645 paved the way for the camera manufacturer’s 6x4.5 SLRs. The M645 1000s followed suit with improvement on the shutter speed that lets it take photos with 1/1000 second speed.
The M645 1000s also had a self-timer feature and a depth-of-field preview lever as improvements over its predecessor. Mamiya’s 645 SLRs can be transformed into different medium format systems with interchangeable lenses, viewfinders, and grips. Metered prisms can also be attached to the M645 1000s through mechanical coupling.
One of the main things that made the M645 1000s stand out was its unusual 15-shot capacity on regular 120 film. Most medium format cameras of its time can shoot 16 shots on a regular 120 film roll. Crisp shots can be expected from the multi-coated Mamiya-Sekor C 80 mm f/1.9 lens.
