Lomography Lobster Redscale 110: It's Like a Painting!

I wanted to try something new with my 110 camera. Always shooting with black and white or color film can be boring after some time. I tried the Lomography Lobster Redscale 110 film and I’m very happy with the results.

I loaded the Lomography Lobster Redscale 110 film in my Diana baby camera. It´s one of my favorite cameras and I take it everywhere I go. I shot the film on different days, so I could test the film within different circumstances. I have shot in sunny and more cloudy conditions. As you can see, the colors are a bit different from each other. The first one is shot in the sun and the second one in more cloudy weather.

.

I was a bit afraid of shooting with redscale film. I thought that the reds would be overwhelming, but that´s not what happened after all! The colors are more soft and not that bright. I liked the look of the pictures. They look more like painting, than a picture in my eyes, most especially the next pictures.

Two kinds of tones are the most visible in the pictures: red / brown and green. I don’t know what I did during shooting these pictures, but some turned out reddish / brownish and some other greenish. The conditions are not important, since I shot inside, outside, in sunlight, and on cloudy days. The photos with more greenish tones have more contrast, which I like better.

The photos with red or brownish tones have less contrast and are more sepia toned. It’s like looking back at old color pictures from the past. I also had one photo which is a nice mix between the two tones. It’s the last one in this gallery.

If you want photos which are not too bright and looks more like a painting or an old picture this is your film! Also I think it’s a pretty good film for experimenting, which I will try next time using this film.
