Lomopedia: Ilford XP2 Super 400 Black & White 35mm Film

One of our bestselling films, Ilford XP2 Super 400 is a favored black and white 35mm film by Lomographers because of its superior chromogenic quality and developing convenience! It's an outstanding choice for action photography (since it can be pushed/pulled) and low-budget film processing (accepted at most one-hour labs)!

Ilford XP2 Super is a sharp, fast, fine grain black and white film. It can be used for any photographic subject, but ensures excellent results when there is a wide subject brightness range. The film yields high contrast negatives and has an extremely wide exposure latitude making it suitable for use in varied lighting conditions. Ilford XP2 Super 400 is easy to process. Unlike most B&W films which use traditional processing, XP2 is developed in C41 chemicals alongside colour negative films, making it a convenient monochromatic choice.

Tech Specs:

  • Manufacturer: Ilford Photo
  • ISO: 400 (can be pulled/pushed between 50-800 ASA)
  • Exposures: 36
  • Developing: C-41 (most one-hour photo labs)
  • For use with all 35mm cameras
  • Also available for 120 format

The XP2 is also my favorite B/W film. The results are always fantastic. For example all B/W pics in this album are shot on the XP2: http://www.lomograph(…)915842-fed2
