Lomopedia: Oktomat

Here's another mini movie-making camera that came before the beloved LomoKino. Boasting of 8 lenses that go off every 2.5 seconds, the Lomography Oktomat allows you tell a short story in a single shot by slicing the scene in a couple of frames. Movement makes the movie!

Envision yourself as a movie director on the world’s tightest budget: you only have one roll of film and you must shoot 8 scenes and have 2.5 seconds to relate your micro-masterpiece. There are so many possibilities from which you might grab an Oktographic snippet: a parade of beagles, big Charlie’s unfortunate bicycle lesson, passionate hedgehogs, or a boozy sea-cruise. Whatever the occasion: choose your scene, motivate your cast, and coordinate your cinematography into a print-bound and Oscar-worthy Lomography Oktomat vignette.

Tech Specs:

  • Lenses: 8 individual units – press the shutter and release all 8 lenses in 2.5 second intervals
  • Collapsable Viewfinder
  • Aperture: f/8
  • Shutter Speed: 1/100 sec
  • Dimensions: 4.25″ × 3″ × 1.25″; weighs 0.4lb (0.2kg)
  • Uses all types of 35mm film
