This is a quick review of my trusty Lomo LC-A+ Russian Lens, with some notes about colour rendition and sharpness. In a previous article, I tested the camera in the good season, and I have obtained vivid tones and contrasty images. Now, I write some notes about the use of this camera in the winter light conditions.
In a previous article, I tested this great camera on a bright sunny day, using a well contrasted film, a Kodak Gold 200. Great saturation, excellent contrast, vivid colours. An excellent result well suited for the place: a fun fair.

In this series of photos, I tested the camera using a less contrasty film, a Fuji Superia 400. This film has an accurate rendition of the colours, with amazing results even in the winter light. Look at the sky: the colours are like pastel and well balanced, The contrast is limited, and the images transmit a great sense of peace and serenity.

The vignetting effect of the LC-A is inimitable, and the well calibrated exposure meter allows to obtain great shots even in the hands of a beginner. Very good sharpness, even in conditions of winter light (with a more open diaphragm respect to a sunny day).
.
The colours are pleasant, but this lens is not an ordinary lens: it has character! This is not an ordinary “postcard landscape”! There are subtle variations of the blue tones in the sky that make this lens very special!
I love the colour of the water, and the general combination of this camera with this Fuji film. A very good combination for the winter season.

You can obtain very good results even in strong backlight conditions! No flares, no diaphragm images visible in the photo!

The bright viewfinder allows you to compose easily every shot! And the focusing lever is very easy to use.

Great green, red and blue tones in this photo! This camera is great even for landscape photography, not only for street photography or for “shot from the hip”!

I love the plasticity of these images. A great camera for every Lomographer!

There is a slight barrel distortion typical of this lens: for this optical defect, the only limitation of this cameras is for architecture photography. Otherwise this is a great “general purpose camera” with unique colour rendition!
The Lomo LC-A+ RL has all the features we know and love, authentic Russian lens, and a back that’s now interchangeable with the Instant Back+. Explore analogue possibilities with the LC-A+ RL!
