Going W-I-D-E with LC-A+RL

The LC-A+RL is a very versatile camera. Coupled with its wide-angle lens, it truly stretches one's potential and it shows with its amazing Russian lens, and its equally amazing wide-angle lens optics.

Armed with Lomography’s X-Pro Slide 200 35mm, I took my LC-A+ RL with its wide-angle lens to Singapore’s more popular tourist attraction – Gardens by the Bay.

I was pretty fortunate that the weather was really sunny (perfect!) and it was really too crowded.

Taking photos with LC-A+ RL was a cinch – set focusing zone, point, shoot.

With the wide-angle lens attachment, framing was a little bit trickier. The wide-angle viewfinder is attached to the hot-shoe and it needs a bit of practice to get yourself familiar with what the actual framing is like. Having said that, the viewfinder is exceptionally bright. In fact, once you are really familiar with its framing, you could just rely on the LC-A’s viewfinder.

The wide-angle lens offers a huge angle and takes in almost everything you point. There are times, the wide-angle lens almost permanently fixed to my LC-A+. I have thought about getting the LC-W but what makes this camera really shine is how versatile it gets, with and without the wide-angle lens. The curious looks I get when I take photos and how the lens works so well with portraits.

Getting the LC-A+RL and the wide-angle lens was a right choice, and it has brought nothing but joy in my daily photo-taking. The perfect companion with my Fujifilm X-10 – both in quality and style.

I love my normal LOMO LC-A+ but I also love the shots the wide-angle takes.
