Lomo Life Book: Look at all those incredible pictures!

It’s been an amazing time full of new product launches: the 20th Anniversary LC-A+, the 110 Gold Editions, the Belair X 6-12 and on top of it: the Lomo Life Book. Who could resist this high-quality paper, amazing lomographs from our community and impressive stories.

In this review, I will present you both books (no.1 The Story, and no.2 The Cameras): Let’s start!

Book 1: The Story
From the beginning on, even before the purchase, it’s clear that this story of Lomography is illustrated with some of the best lomographs of the community. Personally I like to read illustrated books with visual elements – it provides me with the opportunity to dive even deeper into the story. That’s definitive a big advantage of the two books – and hey – it wouldn’t be a Lomography book without the best snapshots from the community!

But also besides all the wonderful pictures – the story itself is REALLY interesting. Even for someone like me, who already saw a LOMO documentation, it contained several surprises. Did you know what LOMO stands for? Or LC-A? Where the LC-A comes from? Who where the founders? I don’t want to give away the whole story, but I will tell you this: if you don’t know about the backgrounds of these two men in Vienna, who gave Lomography to us… then get your own edition. They are amazing and their story is impressive. I caught myself a couple of times, simply starting to laughing…

Book 2: The Cameras

From LC-A to Baby Fisheye and Accessoires: I think I already know everything about the cameras and accessoires! I always asked myself which clones of the Diana F und F+ and Fisheye1&2 exist and now I know everything! What’s the Frogeye? It’s the first Underwater camera Lomography produced (production discontinued)! With the camera encyclopedia I can explain the features of every camera to you. Like the first tome it’s illustrated with amazing photo examples of each and every camerea. Community members and Design team: Great job!

Should you buy it?
It would be the perfect Christmas present for every lomographer – as well for those, who know nothing about Lomogaphy! If you like literature and Lomography – this book will be perfect for you to sit down and relax on a rainy day. I can recommend it especially to beginners – it contains all the camera features and examples and it’s the perfect adviser, if you want to buy a new camera!

Are there photos from community members in the books?

@kneehigh85 In "The Story" I would say 99% of the photos are from the community members. In "The Cameras" after the photo of the various cameras it provides images taken with said camera by the community members :)
