From the moment I placed the pre-order, I had been looking forward to the day I would receive the Belair. I received the shipping email last week and I had been keep a lookout every minute and every second of the day. I jumped when I heard the knock of the deliveryman!
I had seen a few Belair unboxing articles on Lomography but the difference is that I bought the black Belair X 6-12 City Slicker. My reason for choosing black is that it is a safe color, ha!
This is a simple unboxing review. Firstly, the Belair that arrived in the heavy rain. Look at the water stains on the box, which had softened the box slightly…
Let’s open it up!
I am number 189!
Two lenses and the respective viewfinders.
Isn’t the assembled lens, viewfinder, and camera body beautiful?
As the City slicker has a plastic body, it is very lightweight despite its large size. (I personally felt that the weight is similar to Diana Mini + Flash!)
Next, I hurriedly loaded a roll of 120 film. I chose Lomography color negative 400 as Belair has automatic exposure metering and a nice shutter sound, I soon finished my first roll of 6 shots on 6X12 format in a jiffy!
Here is my first roll of work! I first shot my lovely cats but there are a lot of shaky or out of focus shots…
I shot outdoors during a rainy day, with an intentional triple exposure.
Last but not least, this is my most successful shot!
Medium format is too intriguing! The images have the 3D feel, next I would like to bring my Belair X 6-12 City slicker on my travels!
