The Sprocket Rocket Instead of Horizon Perfekt

No money for a Horizon Perfekt, but wanting some panoramic pictures? Or, do you already own a Horizon Perfekt, but that certain something is missing? The Sprocket Rocket is your weapon of choice!

I always found panoramic images stunning. The wide angle, the long pictures. Simply fascinating. Lomography offers three gorgeous cameras: the Horizon Kompakt, the Horizon Perfekt and the Sprocket Rocket. The Horizon Perfekt is a high class camera, but also its price is high class. That’s why I took a closer look at the Sprocket Rocket.

It looked quite cool. A closer look to the most popular Sprocket Rocket images in the Community finally convinced me and I ordered the camera.

The first look through the viewfinder is simpley overwhelming. The wide-angle is hard to describe! My first film was exposed very soon and after developing (remember to note it’s a panorama film, if not, your film might get cut) I scanned it instantly. I was impressed! The sprockets, where the camera got its name, give your images the certain something.

Portraits are even more impressive witht his camera! It looks best, when your main subject is not placed in the center of your photos and the center shows some landscape or a building.

Also, taking group shots are easy. Instead of stepping back with a regular camera to have every single person on film, you can release the shutter immediately.

You can’t go wrong with the Sprocket Rocket!

The Sprocket Rocket is the first wide-angle camera dedicated entirely to sprockets. And with dual winding knobs for easy multiple exposures, there is no limit to your analogue creativity with this panoramic wonder. See the Sprocket Rocket in our Shop.

Great photos and nice review. The Horizon Perfekt is a great camera, but the Sprocket Rocket is probably more reliable!

Yeah, great article. I believe tha Sprocket Rocket is very underestimate. I bought one for my girlfriend but I should it bought for me ;) altough I´m on my LCA+ RL phase, I respect our Sprocket Rocket a lot. That lens can give us a lot of colors! Once more, I believe it is underestimate.
I´ll leave you with the only Sprocket album I published: http://www.lomograph(…)cket-rocket
