I have had quite a longstanding love affair with Lomography's Diana Mini family and my most recent edition, the Diana Mini Leopard Edition is my all-time favorite! Read on to find out why!
First of all, my original Diana MIni was one of the first Lomography cameras I used a lot, and really got to grips with quite quickly. I used it for lots and lots of different things: holidays, portraits, black and white photos, indoor long exposures, and outdoor redscale landscapes. In short, I LOVED this camera A LOT!
However much I used it however, the thing I liked it most for was the way it captured a drunken night out with my friends. It was small enough, even with the flash, to fit in my handbag and it wasn’t so fiddly that I couldn’t operate it when drunk! I loved being able to flick between half-frame and square format and I loved the colour gel filters that came with the flash because they made my photos look very unique.
In February of this year, when Lomo launched the animal print editions and I laid my eyes on the beautiful Diana Mini Leopard Edition — I knew I would have to have it. After saving up my piggies, I got it not long ago. It is perfect for me, as I wear a lot of leopard print, and I love pink. Plus, I love the fact that I now have the 2 Valentine’s Day Edition Minis in my camera collection. And of course, I still use it for the night out photos that I love so much!
The Diana Mini is the ultra-compact, petite version of the Diana F+. This camera takes soft-focused, lo-fi images in 35mm and allows you to change between half-format and square shots with a flick of a switch. Get your own Diana Mini now!
