Camera Review(s) of the Week(s)

It's time once again to put the Magazine's notable reviews on the spotlight! Wait...there's something wrong with the title? No, not all, because we're bringing not one, but two insightful camera reviews for you to check out!

In this feature, we have two very different cameras that can both produce beautiful photos. One is an “antique cutie” and the other is an enigmatic toy camera with a “macro mission.” If you’ve been reading the camera reviews these past two weeks, you might already have an idea who (or what) these two are. But if you don’t…well, okay, let me just spill it: Voigtlander Vitomatic II and Benesse Macro Camera!

“I was so lucky to have gotten this famous branded Germany rangefinder camera in a boots market with a highly affordable price while I was travelling in the Canterbury,” lomographer cloudishballon begins his review. “It brings excellent definition, high brilliance and maximum resolution of images during the whole trip in Switzerland. I am so delighted and in love with this boy!”

Indeed, the photos snapped with this camera are beautiful! Let’s take a look at some of the ones shared by one of our featured camera reviewer:

Stunning, don’t you think? Check out the rest of the photos in the full review!

Now, onto our second camera! “This family of cameras is bit of an enigma. I acquired one by accident. Now, I’m curious about the rest of the family,” our second featured lomographer, gvelasco says about his chosen camera, the Benesse Macro Camera. This Japanese analogue baby often makes it in some thrift stores and online shops, but not many actually get their hands on it. It’s a curious one that has a “macro” function, something you don’t typically see in a “toy” camera, so let’s take a look at the photos!

Obviously not bad for a toy camera, right? Check out the rest of the photos in the full review!

Congratulations, cloudishballon and gvelasco, for penning the featured camera reviews for the past two weeks! Keep your eyes peeled for more amazing analogue goodies out there, and don’t forget to share your awesome snaps with us!

The next snapshooter who will bag the next Camera Review of the Week distinction could be you! Submit your camera review and wow us with your beautiful photos and helpful insights. In case yours isn’t on the list, feel free to let me know!
