Diana 55mm Wide-Angle and Close-Up Lenses: Up Close and Personal

The close-up lens makes this bundle really appealling -- not that the 55-mm lens is not a decent addition to you arsenal in itself.

The Diana 55mm/close-up objective pair is a really interesting piece in the Diana inventory. Although there is nothing wrong with the 55-mm objective, it in itself it is really nothing special. For a wide-ranged shot, the 38-mm Diana objective is much, much better – and is not inferior to the 55-mm one in any aspect. The 55-mm objective’s drawing is even a bit more hazy – I somehow like the more distinct dreaminess of the original objective or the sharper, more detailed lines of the 38-mm objective.

Of course, this lens does not come in itself – it comes with a nice adapter lens, which makes it possible to make real close-up shots with the Diana. This adds an entirely new feature to this versatile camera: you can go real up close and personal, grab very small details – be it a coffee cup, a portion of someone’s face or some classical macro models, like flowers or jewelry. It takes pictures on a fixed 15cm-range, and the depth of field is really shallow – the beautifully blurred backgrounds really help you to emphasize what you want.

So I would primarily recommend this pair of lenses to those who want to have the macro feature on their Diana – of course, if you do not spend much money on Diana objectives, the 55-mm lens is a decent entry to the realm of wide-angled shots. Either way, make sure you include a 15cm-long stick or string in your Diana set – you will find much use of it while you are having fun with the macro objective.

You can now get wide and up-close with this special set of lenses made especially for your Diana + or Diana F+ camera. The Diana+ 55mm Wide-Angle & Close Up Lenses make your images drip with color, with an extra kick of contrast and saturation. Get your own Diana+ 55mm Wide-Angle & Close-Up Lenses now!

I have take 2 rolls in the sun and came back with a wave ghost-glare in all of my shots with the 55 lens and this included with the adapter too. I have not experience the same with 38mm. Has this happened to you? They are in my recent albums.

Yeah, it happened to me a few times, although not with the adapter, only with the basic objective.
