HOLGA 135 BC: Unpredictable Surprises

HOLGA 135 BC is my first LOMO camera. Every now and then, I will bring him out for some sun tanning and he never fails to surprise me! I always look forward to the moment whenever I am sending the films for development.

Some features of Holga 135BC are the dark vignetting corners and plastic lens. When shot under sufficient lighting, the photos are mesmerizing, and this was what made me fell in love with him in the first place.

With the “B” mode setting, as long as you have steady hands or strong support, indoors and night shots are not an issue. It is also convenient when you want to overexpose a shot! Of course, MX shots can be taken easily.

Compared to compact cameras with light meter, auto focus, and big apertures, the Holga 135BC is definitely more unpredictable. Hence, the thinking process is slightly different, resulting in shots that are more open, unrestrained, and varied.

Although I don’t carry HOLGA 135 BC with me everyday, I still think about him all the time and I will bring him out occasionally. I will play with MX, overexposure, and also take the opportunity to practice my hands’ steadiness! Here’s to enjoying a different form of photography fun with this Holga camera!

The Holga 135BC will veil your images in mystery. “BC” stands for “Black Corner”, as this camera creates a shadowy vignette in corners of your photos. See this mysterious beauty in our Shop!
