Lomography Diana Fisheye Lens: Your World in a Bubble

The Fisheye lens for the Diana F+ is a must have accessory. A full 180 degree field of view twisted and distorted into a bubble in the middle of the Diana’s square shots make this lens huge fun.

The Diana Fisheye Lens really does capture everything that is in front of you and is great fun where ever you want to us it. It was not the first lens I bought for my Diana F+, but it is definitely one of the best.

Some may say that fisheye lenses are a bit of a one trick pony, but personally I think they are really quite versatile. The ability to fit everything in front of you in to your shot from only a few centimetres away is brilliant and can be used to great effect in many situations, although you should watch out for inadvertently getting your feet in frame (it really is that wide!)

Where I think this lens really excels is for portraits. Getting really close to your subjects and subjecting them to the fisheye distortion looks great!

Saying that, it also works really well for landscape:

and action shots:

Or even nature:

Another great thing about the fisheye lens is the ability to pair it with the Diana 35mm Back. Framing your shots with the viewfinder can be notoriously difficult when using the Diana 35mm Back and the standard lens, as the smaller film format effectively gives you a massively cropped image. With the fisheye lens on the front of your Diana you don’t need to worry. Your shot will have everything that is in the viewfinder and more.

One small word of caution: if you want the full circular fisheye effect with black borders at the corner, you should shoot your Diana in 12 shot mode, without the 16 shot mask. The 16 shot mask crops the frame slightly meaning you don’t get the full fishy effect.

Now go get this lens and listen to this song!

With the Diana+ 20mm Fisheye Lens, you can have a circular image on a square print. Get 180-degree images with the signature dreamy and soft-focused qualities of the iconic Diana camera using the Diana+ 20mm Fisheye Lens. Available in our Shop.

I just bought it, love how the intensity of the 'bubble-effect' is much more versatile than I thought. :) Fun!

The fisheye lens is my favorite! Especially paired with the 35mm back.
