Lomography X-Pro Slide 200 120: Colors to Give Your Photos Energy

My favourite film is Lomography X-Pro. My favourite camera is the Diana F+. If I can have them both in a unique experience what more can I ask?

I can still remember when lomography showed up with the news that Agfa RSX 200 emulsion was back on the road just with a different name – Lomography X-Pro Slide 200, it made pretty happy some lomographers. This was a couple of years ago, it was the first lomography slide film for medium format, and since then I bet that a bit more than a few lomographers surrendered to this film.

Like most of the lomographers, I’ve been in love with cross processing from the beginning. I could say that the crazy saturated colours made that happen and that’s not completely untrue, but for me it’s more than that. The unexpected colours and unpredictable bright/dark game, the contrast that you never know how it ends.

Some people may think that it can be risky to cross process film shot with Diana F+. Of course it’s not reliable as normal slide film processing, but if we want reliable we would only use our also beloved LC-A. That’s the spirit. That’s the interesting element about it, the risk. Even if we don’t get the 16 frames, which is already not enough, the few that we get will make us happy, definitely.

Even if it is 200 you’ll have to be careful with the lighting. It works quite easily outdoors. Some of my favourite photos, and also some of the most popular, are result of this amazing ensemble.

I truly like the results with plenty of colours, the photos get such an energy that’s impossible not to like them.

With less colour, in my experience because it seems that this doesn’t happen always, they get a greenish atmosphere, what I also find interesting.

Summarizing: for me this is the perfect combination and after that said, next time I’m planning not to go for cross processing… planning, I don’t know if I’ll be able to resist.

Note to myself: Your favourite things today may not be your favourite things tomorrow.

The new Lomography X-Pro Slide 120 is made from the original Agfa RSX 200 emulsion. If you want whacked out colors, huge contrast, and insane saturation, this film is for you. See our selection of Lomography films here.
