Lomography Slide 200 120: A Great Medium Format Choice

Lomography Slide 200 is a great slide film with a 200 iso rating, designed for 120mm medium format cameras. It gives bright coloured even on an overcast Autumn day in the UK. If you want to try a different slide 120mm, why not give it a try. See the results after the jump.

Even though I had tried the Lomography Slide 200 35mm, this was the first roll of 120mm I had decided to put into my Lubitel to shoot. Some people say that the 200 slide gives a big green/blue tint to the photographs, but I have never found that it is too much and I like the results I have previously got from the film, so what was the 120mm version going to be like.

I first put this film in during the summer, on a weekend, when remarkably we had glorious sun in the UK. I took the Lubitel with a selection of other cameras, to a local field full of poppies. The results are below and I am really pleased with them. You can tell slide film has been used but it still maintains great colours.

Fast forward nearly 4 months and we went for a couple of days away to Cornwall In October. Probably due to the fact that the Lubitel is heavier than my other cameras, it doesn’t get to come out on all my photography trips, but on the last day of the holiday I took it out around Plymouth. By this time I had forgotten what film I had put in there and I am bad at making a note, so assumed it was a 400 iso film, which is what I have put in the Lubitel in the Past. I therefore adjusted the settings to factor that in, when I then finished the roll and took it out I feared they may therefore not come out very well, especially as it had been a little over cast as well. When I got the film back from being developed I was pleasantly surprised with the results. Yes it is a little dark on some of them but overall I am pleased with the results, they are exposed well and the colours are great and not too blue/green.

I will be using this film again and will try also try it in my Diana and Holga, I loved some of the results I got with it, but as it is a 200 iso I think in England, at leas,t I will be waiting until it is a little sunnier to get the best results from the film, like in the poppy photos.

The new Lomography X-Pro Slide 120 is made from the original Agfa RSX 200 emulsion. If you want whacked out colors, huge contrast, and insane saturation, this film is for you. See our selection of Lomography films here.

thought you were meant to under expose slide film by a stop if you planned to cross process it anyway
