Urban Adventure: New York with Diana Mini and Kodak Portra 400 VC 35mm

Oh Kodak Portra 400 VC, how I love thee! I love your beautiful, discontinued beauty, your vivid colours, your generous speed...I love you even more when you are nestled in my Diana Mini as I walk the streets of New York!

I found this little gem of a film, mostly by accident, Kodak Portra 400 VC, it had recently been discontinued and I managed to come across a few discounted packs at my local camera shop in preparation for a two week trip to New York City.

I took it to the streets of Chelsea, the Meatpacking District, and SoHo, armed with my Diana Mini loaded with Kodak Portra 400. I loved the chill out cafes, the shadows cast by trees against the warm red brick of the buildings, and the crisp sunshine, making these areas of New York a delight to any visitor. You are never far from quirky coffee shops, chic art galleries, cupcake shops, or beautiful little side streets that hide all kinds of treasures.

Both the light and colours of the streets of New York were perfectly captured with the Kodak Portra 400 VC: rich reds, clear blues, cool greens, popping yellows, and a little bit of grain, which gives the photographs a true street photography feel to them.

With the 400 ISO speed of Kodak Portra 400 VC, I didn’t have to shy away from street shadows, risking underexposure and even shots upwards into the sunny sky weren’t overexposed. This film has a near perfect balance for use everyday, all year around!

Kodak Portra 400VC is the perfect film if you want to get bright, true to life colours without going x-pro. This film lets the light in, but you don’t get washed out colour tones…just beautiful, clear colours!

The Kodak Portra 400 VC 35mm is a true professional`s choice. This portrait film yields great contrast and slamming colours, giving your shots a subtle x-pro look (without the x-pro)! See the whole range of colour negatives in our Shop.

I agree. Porta 400 does magic in the MINI.
