Infinite Love for Disposable Cameras!

My first camera ever was a disposable one and that love never faded. Sometimes we lost sight of each other, but eventually we always found each other again. And nowadays I take them with me again, to festivals that are too chaotic for my 'real' cameras, where they always raise happy faces.

I think that by now I’ve shot with practically all single-use cameras available in the Netherlands and, to be honest, I do not think it matters which one you choose. Shooting in festival tents is hard anyway, so a camera with a flash can be useful. Whether you take 200 or 400 ASA film depends mostly on the weather, but 400 ASA has always been my favourite, whether it’s in a disposable or a Lomography camera.
So actually you cannot go wrong. Hema, Kruidvat, Action: they all kick ass!

The advantage of disposable cameras is that it doesn’t matter if beer gets spilled on it, or if someone thinks it’s a good idea to do a stage dive on top of you or if it (or you) ends up on the ground.

Especially Kruidvat’s single-use cameras give really bright colors, which is something I love. Also, your pictures will still look good when they’re dynamic.

When the air is dusty you will still get relatively sharp pictures, and the flash works really well at a distance of 1 or 2 metres.

Last, but certainly not least, I’d like to share a brilliant photo series that a sweet friend of mine made with a disposable camera on a road trip to Germany. The camera was bought at the Action and she tore off the paper wrapper before shooting. My guess is that this created a light leak which resulted in the film being exposed at one sight by one little ray of light. The effect is super cool!!
