Rollei Infrared Film: The Glow

The special film that not only causes photos to glow!

A few weeks ago I bought the Rollei Infrared film and it came in a package from Lomography. I put it instantly into my Diana F + because I was so excited, and I went outside to take some photos right away.

When I returned, the film was used up as I was in a frenzy on the road, after walking through a graveyard and a strange backyard.

The results I received the next day when I picked up the developed film from the lab blew me off my feet. My photos, and also my face, literally glowed with joy. The angel statue from the cemetery looked like angels who brought me this wonderful film!

But there is one thing I would try the next time I use the film. I want to use a red filter with my Diana F + because the infrared will amplify the film’s effect and it will also go really well with lots of sunshine outdoors. If so, then I think I will take even more mind-blowing photos.

You should consider using an IR filter with IR film, not a red filter. The red filter will have very little effect.

Wow, amazing pictures! You actually took those without any filters on the lens? I really want to try infrared photography but I was afraid to try it because I always thought that you had to use a red filter (that I don't have) to avoid your negatives to be coming out completely opaque.

@gvelasco How do you know if its an IR filter or a red filter? I am considering buying one because I really want to get involved into infrared photography.

    Thanks a lot!
I ordered some of the Efke Infrared IR820 120, as Rollei was sold out.

    Stay tuned for the results!
