Fuji Natura 1600: The Perfect Film for the Night

Want to shoot some pictures at night, but do not have a tripod with you by then? Perhaps, Fuji Natura 1600 film together with the Natura Classica will be your solution.

We all know that we need some help in order to shoot the beautiful night scenery, perhaps a tripod, or a platform to keep your camera steady. If you don’t have a tripod with you, you can try using a high speed film, or a camera with larger aperture setting. Yet it is still difficult to get a clear shot or a sharp photo at night.
So perhaps, the best solution is to have the Natura Classica and Fuji Natura 1600 film with you.

Some time ago, my friend was so kind to lend me her Natura Classica. This analogue camera has a unique feature, namely, NP (Natural Photo) mode. That means no flash even in poor lighting conditions. It works because of high speed films. Once I learned about such function, I was so eager to try and I bought a Fuji Natura 1600 film after that.

So of course, I went to shoot in the evening and at night!

Here are some pictures taken around dusk:

Pictures at night:

The pictures prove that it can handle low lighting situation quite well. It can give you vivid but not flashy pictures. Just like its perfect partner, Natura Classica, it can honestly present what you see. Besides, being an extremely high speed film, it produce much finer grain than I expected.

I don’t really have a steady hand and I usually got shaky pictures. But with this film, I only had one or two out of the 36 pictures blurred. That’s really encouraging as I’m now able to hand held a camera, shooting clear and sharp night scenery photos without the help of a tripod!

I would say this film is particularly suitable for someone new to photography, because with the film in hand, you don’t have to worry too much.

Also, they are extremely suitable for situations that you don’t want to bring a tripod with you, especially not to add an extra kilo to your luggage when you travel.

Do you have any special settings in your natura? I just finished my first roll using the 1600 film and it all turned out very very grainy. :(
