Lomography CN 800: Shoot Without Hesitation!

High speed film is rarely found in local film stores here in Malaysia. If there is any, for sure, it will be expensive film although it was expired. Thank God, Lomography produces their own high speed color negative films. It's affordable to buy with it incredible performance to shoot whether in low light, indoors or outdoors.

Lomography CN 800 is a great film to shoot in low light without hesitation. I am always spending my time with my friends during the night. As rule #1 said, “Take your camera everywhere you go”. So I decided to use Lomography CN 800 as my bullet with my lovely companions, Lomo LC-A + and FED 5B.

Personally, the film works well in low light conditions without the aid of flash. Last July, I tried to test its performance. Yup, it’s perfect.

The picture above was taken with FED 5B, with Jupiter 8 lens at f/2 , 1/15.

With the aid of the Colorsplash Flash, it boosts the color!

I admit that high speed film usually produces more grain. Some say the grain will disturb the photos, but to me, it somehow represents the artistic qualities of the images. It creates characters and describes more story behind the photos.

Even though the film is suitable using it in night/low light condition, I also used it during daylight. The color saturation is excellent and its sharpness is medium.

Last but not least, I suggest to anyone who is looking for high speed film to try Lomography 800. It is an affordable high speed color negative film. Here some of other results with this film:

P.S.
Some of the photos are too dusty, this is not because of the film but this is caused by the scanner. I don’t apply the dust/scratches correction that’s why the photo seems dusty !

The Lomography Color Negative 35mm 800 ISO film is a high-speed film designed to bring a burst of vibrant colour, as well as great saturation and contrast, in all lighting conditions! Shoot in bright sunshine, grey days, indoors or at night with a flash. See our selection of Lomography films here.
