Agfa CT Precisa (35mm, 100 ISO) – Great Film for Great Results

An exceptional film that provides great colors when cross-processed.

This is one of my favorite slide films ever, its quality and results on x-pro makes it a great film to use in the summer or with bright sun conditions.

I’ve always processed it with C-41, I have never tried to develop it with E-6 so I don’t have an impression about this film developed with the proper chemistry but I don’t regret it, the results on the X-pro are so good that I don’t want to try any other process, this film provides amazing blues and rich yellows when cross-processed.

The color shift is not too aggressive like in Velvia and Provia films, I have never had complete color shifts (completely green, completely blue, etc…) with the normal settings for this film, I can only achieve this (almost) complete color shift when I overexpose it and even so, the color shift still isn’t too hard, I can achieve great light blue tones, and sometimes a little bit of light purple.

Agfa CT Precisa also has great saturation and capture lots of details, I love to use it when shooting textures, monuments or old stone houses, this film captures perfectly all the imperfections, you can almost feel it, you have the impression that you can feel the texture on your computer screen or print.

I also love to use this film in the city, in the end of the afternoon, when the sun is more yellow. Combine the concrete texture, a bit of color (a road sign for example), the sky and the yellow light from the sun and its guaranteed success this film won’t let you down, you know exactly what this film will do in certain conditions and how it will behave in x-pro.

This is one of my election films for this summer vacations; its reliability, saturation, detail and awesome results on x-pro makes it perfect for sunny days in almost any scenario: a day in the beach, visiting monuments and walking through the city.
