LC-A Keep: Lomo LC-A Refurbished

Oh lovely vintage LC-A, how I want you!

When I became interested in analog photography, I started reading everything I could find, as the Internet is a good tool for learning. Among that information, I found the site lomography.com.

I loved all the cameras, but it was impossible to get a camera at that time as a student without money. Some years later I purchased one, which came closest to the mother of this new movement, the Colorsplash. But I wanted to put my hands on that famous Lomo LC-A (1984). The only one looked without much plastic as the others cameras and with more options than the N and B to the exposure speed.

A friend told me that she received a beautiful LC-A Refurbished like birthday present. I waited a few months to borrow his camera for a few days to test. Finally, my friend lent it to me.

My first thought when I had it in my hands was, “How wonderful is this little iron thing!!!” I started reading about it, as I had never held a compact camera with aperture priority. The Russian lens with f2.8 was very generous to be so small. When I developed my first roll I was very surprised, I was very pleased with what I got, although I was very excited to use the MX option I had seen, but the original LC-A doesn’t have it. Well then I knew that there was a new LC-A + (2006).

Now I’m waiting for new stock in LSI Shop…How I want this camera!!!

Film: 35 mm
Focal: 32 mm russian lens
Distance: 0,8 m a infinite
Aperture: from 2.8 to 16

manual: 1/60.
ISO: from 25 to 400 ISO

My LC-A is the original model with Cyrillic writing on it, and it takes such awesome pictures! Even though it has no multiple exposure option and only works with 200 or slower film, that great Russian lens completely makes up for it.

I never understood - is the LC-A+ and the LC-A Refurbished the same thing?

@saidseni no, they are not the same. LC-A+ is an 'update' of the original LC-A camera, and there a few notable changes, such as MX (multiple exposure slider), ISO settings, window on back door etc.

@brisk: Yes, I know the difference between the LC-A and the LC-A+. What I don't get is the difference between the LC-A+ and the LC-A Refurbished.

LCA refurbished is the same old russian camera but LSI fixed it and looks like new. The LCA+ has chinese lens and RL russian lens. These are the difference between them. And the ISO and aperture setting in the original LCA. LCA+ and +RL dont have aperture setting

byw to mx wit the old lomo just hold down the rewind while winding the wheel. the film stays in place and the shutter cocks up for the second exposure.
