Diana Mini at Night!

This little gem, although small, can give you an amazing night experience. There's already plenty of Diana Mini reviews around, so I'm going a bit different. I'm going to review the Diana Mini as a night camera!

I’ll start with the Diana Mini with the Diana Flash. This camera has quite a small aperture (f8 & f10), so because of that, the light from the flash won’t really white out the subject. This makes it perfect for taking pictures at parties and night events!

Using color filters from the flash, and multiple shots on a frame/half frame, the result will be from another realm!. When you use the color filters, remember to consider some loss of light. This is because the filter will absorb some light passing through it. Also, it is very common to misplace the filters so be careful. You can find some tipsters on that.

Moving on to the B-mode, this camera handles it pretty well. Because of the plastic lens, I can see some kind of light bending at times. Also, like other cameras with B-mode, you can experiment with light paintings. You can improve composition by using a tripod and a shutter release, but I love the casual ‘hold down B mode while in the car’ style of photography.

I think through experience, most of the downside of this camera happens during the day. Excessive vignette, less sharp pictures and maybe the occasional ‘too dark for indoors’. But at night, this little fella is a straight up winner!
