Super Ikonta C: Your Next Vintage Lover

A superclass folding cam, for lovers of landscapes.

Superikonta C is a folding cam made between 1934 and 1959 by zeiss-ikon in Germany. The model I have in my hands has a wonderful Tessar f4.5/105mm. Works with 120 film with a 6×9 format offering spectacular huge negatives but also give you the chance to switch to 6×4.5. The shutter speed has a rang between 1-1/250 sec plus T and B. Esthetically is beautiful even more with his original leather case.

Superikonta is one of those superfunny cam to use. From the first moment on is a pleasure to unfold her and listen the characteristic ¡clack! Of its gears. The focus system it’s a weird old fashion Galileo Finder that consist in two lenses that offers to you a double ring vision a creamy one and a pink one that must make them match. At the beginning I had my doubts about but a need to say that is the best focus system I ever try.
The quality of the pics is fantastic even more when you thing that is a 76 years old cam. Anyway has a tinny distortion of the image at the right side but I’m sure is only my cam. It’s a wonderful cam to shot landscapes with.

Is not a big cam but it’s 800g turns her into a heavy trip friend around your neck or over your shoulder. Also you must be patient and tacke your time for set you cam before a shot.
In conclusion Superiknta C is a great cam, extremely charmy for lovers of vintage photography that will give you great results if you treat her good.
