The Pentax Auto 110 is the pocket sized SLR with loads of depth
I’ve wanted one of these since I was around 15 years old! But I’d forgot about the pocket sized SLR until I found one on eBay just before Christmas. So I had a look at the ones for sale (and there are quite a few!) and bid on one which came with three lenses 18mm, 24mm and 50mm. It also had a flash and winder and a full set of filters and close up lenses! It cost a staggering £39.00…. Yes £39 for the lot a real steal.
I then bought some out of date Fuji Superia 200 film and quickly took two rolls of film to test the camera and the lenses (these full sets are available in my home). To say the camera must be nearly 30 years old the results were fantastic. This little wonder still could produce fantastic pictures and you can take the whole system with you in your coat pocket…. not something you could say about most SLR cameras if any!
The 18mm lens is an F2.8 (as they all are) Wide Angle equivalent to 35mm for 35mm camera, The standard 24mm lens is equal to a 50mm lens and the 50mm Telephoto is the same as an 100mm lens on a normal 35mm camera so they give you a great selection for any situation you might find yourself in. There are two more lenses available a 70mm and a 20-40mm Zoom but I’ve not been able to track these down as yet.
There are loads of extras you can buy for the Auto 110 including x2 converters, cases, belt clips and more.
Taking pictures is easy as you only have to focus the shutter speed and aperture are set for you, there is a green or amber light in the view finder to let you know if you need to use the flash or not. It is that easy. If your looking for something portable for a trip or your traveling light then with this system you can’t go far wrong so go on take the plunge and grab yourself a bargain…….. you won’t regret it!
