LC-A and KRAB (The Red Sea underwater experience)

Don't miss the great opportunity for joyful underwater Lomo shooting. My extra Lomo rule from now on - always have the KRAB for the LC-A when going swimming!

At the end of October my wife and I went to a well known resort amongst crazy Russian tourists in Egypt – Hurgada. Well, why couldn’t I try something fresh and new for my Lomo experience especially as the light conditions in Egypt coupled with the warm and clear waters of Red Sea provided a good opportunity for underwater shooting? So I went to St. Petersburg’s Lomo embassy and returned with paper box and a brick of ten 400 iso film. That was a red sexy KRAB underwater housing for my LOMO LC-A.

During 1 week in Hurgada I shot 4 films. I strongly recommend to use high iso speed film (e.g. 400 or even 800) for better results. Red Sea is rich of corals, different fishes and sea-urchins. But I’m not a serious diver actually. I just swim with a simple mask and oxygen pipe but quite pleased and satisfied with the results. And also don’t forget to clean and smear the rubber seals of KRAB!

    Shooting underwater is cool! I have a sub case for my fisheye and I love it, yet to get one for my LC-A... but you have inspired me! Love your shots esp. number 14 & 16...

    next time may I please recommend you to go to Sinai (in Egypt as well) - magnifique place. try to find some corners far away of tourists should you accept my proposal :)

    Great review! Has anyone shot with the LC-A and Krab in an indoor pool? I want to do a shoot with a friend but I'm worried about the lighting being an issue....
