120 degrees of delicious FULL panoramic vision! The Horizon Perfekt is all that you can ever ask for in an analogue camera!
First of all, this camera looks totally fantastic – as if transported to earth by some uber starlight scientists from a distant space aged alien nano technology sky station – it truly feels wonderful in your hands. The smooth ergonomically curves, integrate person to camera seamlessly. Point of fact, whenever I go out & shoot with the Lomography Horizon I always have peeps stop me and ask me questions – even when I shot my very first roll – I was shooting down by the bridge on Newcastle Quayside and 3 total strangers came up to me asking me what it was … great fun and just took a little bit explaining :)
Ok so let me tell you a few things just in case you know nothing about this camera at all. It uses 35mm film – any 35mm film that you can get your hands on. I advise you read the instructions and see how to load the film – looks more complex than it actually is – and once you get the hang of it – it’s really easy! You have a choice of how fast you want that lens to open and swing across – again read the manual – it’s really really easy.
It’s totally fantastic fun to use and you can hand hold night shots with ease. If you feel unsteady, then just lean against a wall or whatever you can find – or yeah you can if you want to place the camera on a tripod and use a cable release, if that makes you feel better. You can check out the Galleries or the Microsite
for more info on this little gem.
Alrighty! I have added to this gallery the first few rolls of film that I shot with the Horizon Perfekt plus some shots that I took a year or so after getting it – I am thrilled with what this camera can do. I highly recommend it and if you’re ever thinking to treat yourself to something – well this is it. You can use it as a snap shot camera and you can shoot from the hip!
So think it over! And if you got a buzz and tingle from seeing horizon images this is always a good indication! Follow your heart and get yourself some Perfekt love – life is short so hell you may as well live it!
