Konica Waiwai - A Disposable Wide angle Camera

9

Cheapest ultra wide angle camera available on earth. Better yet, you can re-use it after!

Konica Wai wai is the first wide angle camera that i have. What so special about it? It is a disposable camera that equipped with 17mm wide angle plastic lens. I came across this camera through a friend’s blog. I was impress by the wide perspective of this camera. When it is loaded with slide and cross processed, the color is vivid and it produces a strong vignette effect on sunny days. The plastic lens creates a dreamy and soft focus feel.

The camera has unlimited possibilities of modification. It can have multiple exposure as well as long shutter modes. I’m a DIY lover so i have tried many different things on this camera such as turning it to a pinhole camera. Without modification, this camera is best used in sunny days, it takes any type of 35mm film including black and white, slide, and negative. With the technique to reload the camera with new film, i have reload this disposable camera for more than 20 times with care and it still looks new. Here is the video of how to reload this disposable camera.
One of the best tricks i discovered so far is to point this camera directly to the sun and the lens flare is awesome!!!
