Elikon family should be known by every Lomographer, because of well-known and great 535 model, but this time Ladies and Gentlemen let me introduce you to the Elikon 4.

If I count correctly, there were nine different Elikon models. Elikon 4 was made in 1988 and is very similar to Elikon 3. Elikon 4 is mechanical camera, but you are not able to control all the settings. The shutter of Elikon 4 is fixed at 1/125s and if you load this baby with 100 iso film, I say this combination is perfect for “rule 16”. Why? Because this camera’s aperture range is f4-f16. But still if you don’t know what “rule 16” is – that’s not a problem, the aperture setting ring is decorated with those cute weather symbols like on Smena, Agat and some other cameras.
Well I really enjoyed testing this camera! Shooting was really easy, interesting and cheerful. There are two funny things about this camera. First one is the sound of shutter. Maybe it’s only in my camera, but every time I click the shutter release button, my Elikon 4 sounds like “Chhiinn..”. That sound is really hilarious and reminds me two swords striking each other . And the second funny thing is tripod mount socket in a camera which does not have a B – bulb mode and cable release plug, but on second thought the tripod mount socket works perfect as lens cover holder.
More great things about this camera: frame counter, a film reminder holder (a place where you can put a piece of paper film box with information about film), build-in flash and the last and the best black corners in the pictures :) just have a look at this gallery. Sweet is in it?

I bought one as well and it takes great colour and black & white pictures. Good vignetting.
This is another one Lomography should consider manufacturing. It is alot better than most other "Western" point & shoots that I've owned.
