Leader Camera - Staff Review

The Leader Camera is another very basic Diana clone. Two shutterspeeds - Normal and Long time, 3 focus settings just like the Diana and the possibility to chose from two apertures- one for bright sun and the other one for- ok, let´s say - just a little less light.

If you´re familiar with Diana cameras this precious original piece of french 70ies won´t have much new up it´s sleave for you. That´s what I thought – but after the second exposure the release knob got stuck what caused unexpected half – normal – half longtime exposed pictures.
The Leader will give you the great feeling of shooting with an original oldtimer.

After some takings with the Diana F+ making pictures with the leader camera feels really oldschool – its an eye opening “back to the basics” experience. No flash to help out in poor light situations – no tripod screw for unshaky long time exposures. It really is the best to take out that piece of plastic history to nature on a sunny day – so that there´s enough light to creep into your camera through all the leaks and the blurred lens to get those ultra charming soft focused, vignetted images Diana partisans love so much.

I've bought this lovely plastictoy too, because collecting Diana Clones. My leader starts working at the last two pics from the roll, but now works fine with a lovely soft image.
