The LC-A+ RL camera is a small picture view-finder camera with an automatic exposure programme. For the operation of this programme the camera requires three button-cells (1,5V) and it is also featured with an electro mechanic shutter and an electronic exposure meter. The difference between the LC-A+ and the LC-A+ RL is that the LC-A+ RL has built in the original lens made in Russia and it is more expensive, in contrast does the LC-A+ have a lens produced in China.

Like every kind of LC-A camera also the LC-A+ RL uses 35mm film. You have to set the film-speed by turning a very small wheel beside the viewfinder on the front side of the camera (ASA 100 – ASA 1600).

The camera has four different distance settings: portrait (0,8m), portrait group (1,5m), group (3m) and landscape (infinite). Its focal width is 32mm and its aperture is f/2,8. The LC-A+ RL possesses a tripod socket, a flash mount, a gadget to do multiple exposures (+) situated underside the camera and the possibility to mount a cable release. Additional it is featured with a cover flap to protect view-finder and lens from damage. Another advantage of this flap is that when it is closed it is not possible to push the release button. When you have finished a film, you have to rewind it manually by twirling the film-transportation wheel clockwise until you do not feel any resistance anymore.

A big advantage of this camera is its smallness. You can take this camera everywhere you want and so it perfectly fits number one of the ten lomographic rules “Take your camera everywhere you go!”.

The LC-A+ RL camera is my all-time favourite because of the quality of the photos you can take with her. I appreciate the multiple exposure function very much – some of the pictures I took look really artistic and extraordinary. It is a camera you can use day and night because of above mentioned automatic exposure programme (which makes it possible to make longtime exposures) and the fact that you are able to mount a flash (I use the Colorsplash Flash). There are also lots of additional features you can combine with the LC-A+ RL, for example the Wide Angle Lens or the Splitzer – the camera has a special notch to mount both – but also the Tunnelvision Lens, the Krab (to take pictures underwater), …
So there is no time for boredom with your LC-A+ RL! Just start shooting!
