There are lots of plastic beauties featured with four lenses, even with eight lenses, which show you moves and bring some action into your life. Among all these plastic fantastic cameras there is one with a little eccentric touch – the golden 9eye! She’s the static queen and pictures a moment of calm 9 times. This means that to shoot one object looks like a fantastic design and that’s why it is almost impossible to mess up a photo. It is often a big surprise to see the results of your film – even when you think that you took some shots which do not live up with your high expectations.
The only chance to mess up a pop9 shot is when it is too dark. You should always use the built in flash especially when you decide to take your shots from very close. Don’t forget to check if your battery – one AA battery is required – is charged. When you don’t use your pop9 remove it. I sometimes forget to remove the battery and the next time I want to take photos the flash does not work due to an empty battery. Annoying!
I always use 100 ASA film with my pop9 camera combined with as above mentioned flash. My favourite type of film is black and white film with a good contrast. In my opinion the photos look more artistic and special in black and white. But I also use colour film and most of the times the results are great too.
You can develop your pop9 films at any drugstore but there is the risk that they cut your images wrong. If you are able to scan your negatives, just let them develop the negatives and write on the film bag “please don’t cut”.
Something strange in the end: The images come out upside down. I figured it out after I made some double exposure experiments combined with other cameras. But maybe this is just a “special feature” of my pop9. :)
