Lucky film, happy shots: I bought my first Lucky SDH film on the lomoshop, firstly because I
wanted to do some 120 b&w shots and secondly because it wasn’t very
expensive film…hmm, a chinese b&w film, I wondered what kind of
results this could give with my Holga or my Rolleiflex…
When I brought my this film to my usual photolab, it was their first time to see this brand of film and even asked me what kind of process such a film
would need…
I was really excited to have my photos using this film to be scanned and the results didn’t disappoint me! Wow, really deep blacks and
clear whites, this is a kind of film that gives your shots an amazing clear
texture, precise grain and the best contrast you can have in b&w photography! And my Holga shots had a really strong
vignetting, but still being very sharp with a soft light in the
middle.
This Lucky film really can handle strong differences between the
darkest sides of the picture and the clearest ones. And whatever the
light situation, you can use it at almost every shutter-speed and
aperture, with or without flash, there’s always something great to come
out of it. And I tried it out with Holga, Diana+ and Rolleiflex, and it’s a great film for all these cameras.
Well, if you need a sharp and precise b&w film with great contrast, then this film is it!
