The New Lomography Cine200 Tungsten Film

Back in the day, cine film material could not be used on photography cameras. This is due to the back layer, which needs to be removed using a special process before the film can be developed.

Now, the good news is that we have found a limited batch of rare cine material that we specially treated, so that it can be used in 35mm film cameras. We’re sure you’ll love Lomography Cine200 Tungsten Film. This emulsion is an authentic cine film, which has been specially treated so that it can be used in your 35mm film camera. What this means: it will yield phenomenal photos that look like stills from a movie! It’s convenient too, because this Color Negative Film can be processed normally in C-41. We only have 4000 rolls of this extraordinary 35mm film, so order now and start shooting supremely creative photographs. Breathe in the romantic experience of cinematic art of the last century with Lomography Cine200 Tungsten Film!

What is Tungsten Film?

Tungsten Motion Picture Film is a cinematographer’s essential. It’s sensitized for artificial light conditions, making it an ideal emulsion to use because of the detail and deep saturation. Tungsten Film is impressive in sunny conditions, too; expect crystal clarity, an overall cool look, impeccable blacks and amazing contrast. While production has been scarce over the years, now you experience tungsten magic with Lomography Cine200 Tungsten Film!

How is this different than CineStill 800 film (which can be exposed at 200 iso as well)?

This film looks interesting, at least from the example pics above, but I don't understand why you can't use piggies to pay for them in part? With the new piggy rules you can pay only up to 30% of your order with piggies. But you cannot combine orders with and orders without piggies, so you will have to order these roles separately and pay shipping costs unless you order 8 or more rolls. So I'm in doubt, maybe I will check first with the Lomo store in Amsterdam if they have it. At least you can order these per single roll instead of 5 as a minimum, as with the Purple rolls. And they seem to be in stock now!

@stratski – Lomography Cine200 is 200 ISO by its nature, so perfectly designed for use in situations where you have enough light. CineStill 800 achieves its best results when shot at ISO 800. Besides the ISO rating, both films are Tungsten balanced and designed in a similar way. So it’s really a matter of taste which film to opt for. But of course there is one major difference – The Cine200 is limited to 4000 rolls only – so you better be quick if you’d like to try it out :-)
